This is totally wrong. Neither the king of Thailand nor the Royal Family owns the Royal Properties Bureau. The office, together with all the properties -- which included land plots in Bangkok's prime areas -- belongs to the government and administrated by the government from the very beginning. All the properties were confiscated from the former monarch King Prachadhipok or King Rama 7 whose reigned ended by the Jun 24, 1932 "Revolution" that changed the Kingdom to democratic rule. Once again, no nobody in the Royal Family has a single share in the Properties Bureau. This also causes misunderstanding among Thai people. The Red-shirts also spread this wrong information. But you may find the fact about this very easily on Google.

[I was trying very hard to post this comment. Sorry if this a repeat.]

This is totally wrong. Neither the king of Thailand nor the Royal Family owns the Royal Properties Bureau (or the Crown Property Bureau ass it is put here). The office, together with all the properties - which included land plots in Bangkok's prime areas - belongs to the government and administrated by the government from the very beginning. It is under the Ministry of Finance not under the Royal Family by any mean. All the properties were confiscated from the former monarch King Prachadhipok or King Rama 7 whose reigned ended by the Jun 24, 1932 "Revolution" that changed the Kingdom to democratic rule. Once again, nobody in the Royal Family has a single share in this entity. Neither the King nor his children has any direct benefit from profits generated by this government office, because this is purely the Thai government's issue. This often causes misunderstanding among Thai people. The Red-shirts also spread this wrong information. But you may find the fact about this very easily on Google.
